Provider Pay Calculations
We calculate partner and provider pay each month from your production reports, following the compensation agreements you already have. The results go straight into payroll. Nobody has to do it by hand or argue over the math.
The Monthly Math
In most group practices someone has to turn the month’s production into a paycheck for each provider. Often it is the practice manager or one of the partners working through a spreadsheet late at night. The formulas were built years ago by someone who may not even work there anymore, and nobody is quite sure every cell is still right.
We take that job off your plate. Your billing team sends us the production reports at the end of each month. We apply the terms of the compensation agreements you already have in place and calculate what each partner and provider is owed. Then we run it through payroll so the numbers on the report match the money that lands in their accounts.
Built From Your Agreements
Built From Your Agreements
We start by reading the compensation agreements you give us. Base salaries, production percentages, collection thresholds, draws, and bonus terms. We set up the calculation to follow those terms as written so the same rules apply the same way every month.
Every Provider on the Roster
Every Provider on the Roster
Partners, employed physicians, surgeons, and associate dentists often have very different terms. We handle each agreement on its own so a partner’s draw and an associate’s percentage of collections are both calculated correctly in the same pay period.
Where We Draw the Line
We want to be clear about what this service is. We calculate pay. We do not design compensation plans or tell you how your providers should be paid. Physician compensation is governed by Stark Law and other medical compliance rules, and those decisions belong with you and your healthcare attorney.
That line protects your practice. The terms come from agreements you have already put in place with the right guidance. Our job is to apply those terms accurately and consistently. If an agreement is unclear or does not cover something that comes up, we flag it and ask you how to handle it instead of making the call ourselves.
Your Billing Data
Your Billing Data
The production numbers come from your billing team. We do not pull them from your billing system or adjust them. We work from the reports they provide and keep a copy with each month’s calculation so there is always a clear record of what the pay was based on.
Questions Go to You
Questions Go to You
Real life does not always fit neatly into a contract. A provider takes leave in the middle of the month or a new associate starts partway through a quarter. When that happens we bring it to you with the numbers laid out. You decide and we apply it.
Fewer Arguments
Pay disputes between partners are some of the hardest conversations in a practice. When one partner runs the numbers for everyone, the others can start to wonder whether the math was done fairly. Even when it was, that doubt can wear on a working relationship over time.
Having an outside firm do the calculation takes that tension out of the room. Every provider sees the same method applied the same way each month. Marc Eastin, our Chief Information Officer, is a practicing neurosurgeon who also owns a business. He knows how much it matters to doctors that their pay is right and arrives on time.
A Clear Breakdown
A Clear Breakdown
Each provider can see the production figures, the terms that were applied, and the pay that resulted. If someone has a question they can follow exactly how the number was reached. The conversation starts from the facts instead of from suspicion.
Paid Through Payroll
Paid Through Payroll
Once you approve the calculations we run provider pay through Gusto along with the rest of your staff. Withholding, payroll taxes, and filings are handled in the same process. This works in any state, which helps if your providers practice in more than one.
